"Practical Examination" Extended PDF Print E-mail
The Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) has agreed to extent the life of the controversial “Practical Examination” for Swimming Pool Specialty Contractors until 2012. UPSA Lobbyist Bruce Kershner proposed the extension in the CILB January meeting.

Publication and legal review of the extension is running its course. Formal adaption is expected soon.

Kershner reasoned that the extension benefits both the CILB and our industry because:

• The practical examination route for licensure is working
• The cost of producing the written exam will be prohibitive when compared to cost effectiveness. Neither CILB nor UPSA was looking foreword to paying for a written exam.
